This Thursday, March 24, I will be volunteering at Spark Ventures’ third annual Wine Tasting, which will benefit children around the world. Founded in 2006, Spark is a Chicago-based non-profit whose goal is to partner with organizations in the developing world that serve children and help these organizations to become financially independent.
Their current project involves working with its partner, Hope Ministries, to provide food, housing, clothing and education to children in Ndola, Zambia, Africa. If you can’t attend the tasting, you can consider sponsoring a child who attends the school or orphanage that Hope runs, and the contributions will help to improve the lives of some of the world’s poorest children in a responsible and sustainable way.
The wine tasting will run from 5:30-8:30 p.m. but guests are welcome to come late or leave early. The event will be at Hafele Showroom at 154 West Hubbard. Along with wines from around the world, the event will include appetizers, a silent auction and entertainment from the Scott Pazera Trio. It should be a really great time, and I hope I’ll be seeing you there!
